Title: Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Aliyya Sharif, Oakland , CA, for the latter to provide up to 20 hours per week of service to District's Refugee and Asylee Student Assistance Program (RASAP) staff to educate parents, primarily Arabic speaking Yemeni families with limited English ability, about the U.S. school system, provide interpretation at community meetings, school conferences, parent-teacher meetings, provide enrollment support during the school year and summer programs run by RASAP, as well as outreach to individual parents about key educational issues (such as summer school enrollment, attendance, discipline, the District's School Options process, etc.), via the English Language Learner and Multilingual Achievement Department, for the term February 15, 2019 through June 30, 2019, in an amount not to exceed $5,000.00.
