Title

Approval by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and East Bay Asian Youth Center (EBAYC), Oakland, CA, for the latter to fulfill requirements of three grants managed by OUSD Community School Student Services:

                     Under USDOE grant create a family engagement plan, addressing chronic absence by case managing high families, promote school enrollment/kindergarten readiness with Lotus Bloom partnership, create programs for successful middle school transitions, create events and programs to increase access to health services, create events and programs to increase utilization of La Clinica School Based Health Center at Roosevelt, strengthen partnerships and build overall systems to increase student achievement; serve all students, families, school staff, and partners at Garfield Elementary and Roosevelt Middle School for 2018-19 school year;

 

                     Under a Kaiser Foundation Grant support Health, Wellness, and Community Schools, provide a range of services, including assessment of the Oakland High School's needs and assets, facilitation of Coordination of Services Team, coordination of all student and family support services, and development of resources and partnerships to meet identified needs in partnership with Oakland High School and the Community Schools and Student Services Department. Services; and;

 

                     Under California Department of Education Learning Communities for School Success Program transition EBAYC staff to attend Restorative Justice training and to support all students, school staff at Bella Vista Elementary School via access to OUSD Restorative Justice Practices,

 

via, the Community Student and Services Department, for the period of July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019, in an amount not to exceed $197,728.00.
