Title

Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Joy Robinson-Lynch, Vineyard Haven, MA, for the latter to 1) Develop a 5th grade scope and sequence that is aligned with state and national standards and builds the scaffolding for the middle and high school lessons; 2) Work with the Curriculum and Materials Review Task Force to approve all lessons; 3) Develop and provide two 5th grade puberty education workshops for teachers; 4) Provide two parent education nights for 5th grade parents on growth and development; 5) Provide professional development for new 6th grade teachers to assist in the delivery of our 6th grade puberty health education; 6) Provide professional development for new 7th grade teachers to assist in the delivery of our 7th grade sexual health education; 7) Provide professional development for new 9th grade teachers to assist in the delivery of our 9th grade sexual health education, Healthy Oakland Teens; 8) Provide a 3-hour refresher course for our 9th grade experienced Science and English teachers; and 9) Evaluate the workshops and create follow-up activities for participants, via the Community Schools and Student Services Department, for the period of September 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018, in an amount not to exceed $30,000.00.
