Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Empowering Parents (EP), San Diego, CA, for the latter to provide quality parent/family meetings empowering parents to take control of their households and their children’s educational journeys; respond to related email questions from parents within 48 hours Provide a “kudos to Castlemont High School” page in each parent meeting; provide electronic power point presentations for each parent meeting Create Empowering Parents College Readiness Series’ information sheets; provide college prep related topics for College Readiness Program; meet with parent leaders, community members and Castlemont staff to market the program for recruitment purposes; provide one-on-one advising to parents when applicable Work with Castlemont High School staff to develop marketing flyers; create, distribute and analyze a program evaluation at the end of the program cycle; provide in-door facilities with theater style set-up for each meeting; provide AV equipment including 2 microphones, LCD projector and screen Provide copies of hand outs for parents when necessary; market meeting information on school marquee and website as well as distribution of parent/family series flyer; provide  the translator plus appropriate translator listening devices equipment for each family meeting; provide a light healthy dinner and childcare for each family meeting; commit a designated EP contact person from the school site; give EP staff access, upon parent authorization, to the academic related records of the selected students, at Castlemont High School, for the period of October 11, 2016 through May 04, 2017,  in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00.
