Approval by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Playworks, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide a full-time coach who facilitates positive play at recess, throughout the school day, and after school, with implementation in four key areas: Recess - create a fun, safe, and inclusive playground by developing standard behavioral agreements and conflict resolution; Junior Coach Leadership Program - 4th through 6th grade students participate in regular leadership training; Class Game Time - students learn foundational skills and activities so that students can confidently engage in and enjoy recess; and Interscholastic Leagues, at Manzanita Community School, for the term July 1, 2016 through June 8, 2017, in an amount not to exceed $32,500.00.
