Title: Approval by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Higher Ground Neighborhood Development Corp (HG), Oakland, CA, for the latter to do the following: a) Implement the Strong Behavior(SB) Program and School Climate Coaching for K -5th grade students; b) Provide Technical support around creating behavior plans for recommended teachers including kindergarten teachers; c) Collect ongoing data on continuous project quality improvement; d) Provide 1 SB Prevention Mentor for 7 hours of direct service for 39 weeks; e) Provide 1 SB Prevention Mentor for 4 hours of direct service for 39 weeks; f) Provide 1 School Climate Coach for 4 hours of direct service for 39 weeks; g) Provide staff for all its projects and cover absences by either providing substitution staff or adjusting reimbursement amounts when HG team members are absent for reasons other than agreed upon indirect time; h) Notify EOP leadership within 24 hours of covered and non-covered absen...

Approval by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Higher Ground Neighborhood Development Corp (HG), Oakland, CA, for the latter to do the following: a) Implement the Strong Behavior(SB) Program and School Climate Coaching for K -5th grade students; b) Provide Technical support around creating behavior plans for recommended teachers including kindergarten teachers; c) Collect ongoing data on continuous project quality improvement; d) Provide 1 SB Prevention Mentor for 7 hours of direct service for 39 weeks; e) Provide 1 SB Prevention Mentor for 4 hours of direct service for 39 weeks; f) Provide 1 School Climate Coach for 4 hours of direct service for 39 weeks; g) Provide staff for all its projects and cover absences by either providing substitution staff or adjusting reimbursement amounts when HG team members are absent for reasons other than agreed upon indirect time; h) Notify EOP leadership within 24 hours of covered and non-covered absences via email and text message; i) For the 1st 8 weeks of program one hour per week of service time will be used for indirect services focused on training, coaching, appraisal, and information dissemination; j) Try and coordinate weekly indirect time as to not interfere with day to day caseload functions; k) Scale back indirect service time to 1 hour per month after the 1st 8 weeks of programming for all team members; l) Provide 39 weeks of direct and indirect service, 5 days per week, with exceptions within the holiday school closures weeks; m) Provide all necessary insurance and assurances associated with operating as District contractor; n) Provide management of assigned budget assuring that it supports all areas of programming and remains balanced; o) Assure that the service space is neat and clean as relevant to the current activity taking place in the service space, at East Oakland Pride Elementary School, for the period of August 22, 2016 through June 9, 2016, in an amou...
