Approval by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Oakland Public Education Fund, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide the following services: 1) newcomer support and development through hiring of a coach and providing resources that support English language acquisition through targeted reading interventions, (approximately 416 hours); 2) create and supply culturally relevant reading interventions by supporting the creation of a library (approximately 16 hours); 3) curricular support for teachers, as well as supporting the literacy club (approximately 20 hours); and 4) hiring of an art educator to support art integration (approximately 100 hours), at Bret Harte Middle School, for the period of January 15, 2016 through June 30, 2016, in an amount not to exceed $29,560.00.
