Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Mindful Life Project/YMCA of the East Bay, Richmond, CA, for the latter to provide healing of social- emotional problems of students by providing an educational experience that positively impacts the behavioral patterns of students; through based interventions, students will be guided to make positive life choices both at school and in their community, teaching mindfulness, expressive arts, yoga, and the performing arts; help to reduce detentions, referrals, suspensions, and expulsions in the short term, and a decrease in delinquency, gang involvement, violent and criminal activity in the long run, for pupils at Lafayette Elementary School, for the period of January 11, 2016 through June 30, 2016 in an amount not to exceed $12,500.00.
