Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Community Resources for Science, Berkeley, California, for the latter to provide one in-class model lesson for each BOLTS participating teacher; continuous, year-round access to individualized planning consultations, information on fieldtrips, in-class programs, materials, and websites; help with material sourcing and program arrangements; monthly “e-News Blast” updates; quarterly “Resource Guide” mailings with information on special events, professional development workshops and grants; and the CRS Newsletters; access to unique in-class programs offered by Bay Area Scientists in Schools (BASIS) role model volunteers, as available; invitations to Field Trips for Teachers and other community-building events; variety of teacher-tested planning tools, activity ideas, and worksheets; at school’s convenience, CRS staff will visit a staff meeting to introduce current services, answer questions, and facilitate your planning and requests; and principal receives all benefits free of charge, including support for researching and acquiring whole-school science resources, via the Teaching and Learning Department, for the period September 1, 2015 through August 31, 2016, in an amount not to exceed $1,800.00.
