Title: Approval by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Safe Passages, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide 3 full time AmeriCorps members to work with Middle School students, as follows: each member will provide academic support/tutoring, mentoring, and conflict resolution for 10 cohort students during regular and after school, with a goal of increasing student achievement by 1 full functional grade level by the end of the school year; members will coordinate with English and Math teachers to determine individualized learning plans for 30 students; members will assess students 3 times per year using Northwestern Educational Assessments' Measurement of academic Progress, online platform; members will regularly share data with staff and collaborate with the goal of raising student achievement, at Claremont Middle School, for the period August 25, 2014 through June 30, 2015, in an amount not to exceed $20,000.00.
