Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and High Expectations, Oakland, CA, for the latter to coordinate with FSCP regional family liaisons to provide site-based professional development for teachers, to build teacher capacity for family engagement, and provide teacher-led academic workshops for families on literacy and/or math, strengthening relationships between teachers and families at Lafayette, Sankofa, REACH, Brookfield, Allendale and Fremont; work with FSCP regional family liaisons to design and deliver teacher training, and implement teacher-led academic workshops for families; staff coordination, teacher training time, and development of academic workshops for families; 360 families, 60 families per site, will be more engaged in their child's learning at home, have more communication with their child's teacher, and increase their child's attendance, as measured by OUSD family engagement survey, for the period of October 15, 2013 through June 30, 2014, in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00.
