Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between District and Serve-N-Learn, Castro Valley, CA, for the latter to provide 19 hours, providing peer education leadership, by recruiting 10 to 15 peer educators, representative of the schools ethnicities and identified as being natural leaders; train students on assessing tobacco and marijuana use on campus and among the student body; train students on the science of inquiry and developing measures to address the schools prevention needs; train students on leadership; collaborative environment youth adult partnership; presentation skills, educate students on developing media and activities to educate their peers and classrooms and assemblies; facilitate 10 to 15 anti-tobacco, marijuana presentations and do schoolwide prevention education campaigns to reach all students at the school site; train students to administer classroom presentation evaluations, train students on evaluating their own work and provide positive feedback to their working groups; and train students to help their peers at risk to assess student services at their site and their community, at Roots International, Alliance Academy and Elmhurst Community Preparatory School, and West Oakland Middle School, for the period of September 4, 2012 through October 10, 2012, in an amount not to exceed $570.00.
