Approval by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between District and Playworks, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide a maximum of 475 hours of service, providing one full-time Program Coordinator, Monday-Friday, to carry Out the four Playworks components for students, as described in the Scope of Work, incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth, which include: RECESS to coordinate the playing of core playground games and core sports, as well as to introduce skill building exercises and cooperative games; CLASS GAME -to teach students and teachers the rules, expectations and skills of the games and activities provided during recess in a safe and structured setting; JUNIOR COACH PROGRAM-to establish student leadership within the school and to build student ownership of some key school functions; geared toward the upper level grades and includes maintaining and distributing the school played our equipment and leading peers and younger students in recess games and activities and OUT OF SCHOOL-leading an after-school group or before school recess at International Community School, for the period of August 27, 2012 through June 13, 2013, in an amount not to exceed $28,000.00.
