Approval by Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between District and S & S Math Services, LLC, Oakland, CA, to provide a maximum of 292.10 hours of services to provide professional development for teachers and administrators to improve mathematics achievement of CUES students by developing a rigorous mathematics program, including: (1) deepening teacher content knowledge through ongoing instructional coaching and grade level meetings, (2) building whole-school mathematics practices, including a fact mastery program, lesson planning frameworks, ongoing standards-based assessment, math journals, and gradual release for independent student work, (3) creating school systems to support mathematics, including grade level academic accountability conferences, student work protocols, and articulated fact mastery program, and (4) developing standards-based strategies for monitoring student progress and providing appropriate student intervention, at Community United Elemenary School, for the period of September 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013, in an amount not to exceed $27,750.00.
