Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Spanish Speaking Unity Council, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide 625 hours of academic tutoring and peer health support for eighteen boys participating in the "Joven Noble" youth development and wellness program selected based on their academic performance, behavior patterns, and participation in a 2012 Summer session "Joven Noble" Pilot at UFSA; eighteen 7th and 8th boys of color tutoring in Math, English and Science, and mentoring through the Latino Men and Boys Program staff mentors and AmeriCorps tutors; assess and track grades and homework assignments as well as visits to the school based health center to receive screenings, educational materials and information, including family enrollment in MediCal; LMB and AmeriCorps staff mentors on campus during and after school Monday through Friday, five days a week to provide services for the eighteen Joven Noble participants at Unit...
