Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between District and Donna Gaarder, San Francisco, CA, for the latter to provide 360 hours of professional coaching services to teachers for substantially improving instruction and student achievement in Mathematics through these two strategic priorities: (1) Support the new Mathematics Department chair to provide effective leadership for effective site-based collaboration within and across content areas around design and delivery of rigorous lessons and units aligned with common core standards and assessments (Strategic Plan Goals: High quality instructional core and effective instruction) and (2) Support Algebra Intervention instructor to design and enact highly effective curriculum and assessments that will substantially improve the Mathematics and Algebra performance of ninth grade students (Strategic Plan Goals: Create equitable opportunities for learning and prepare students for success in college and careers), at Oakland Technical High School, for the period August 25, 2012 through June 15, 2013, in an amount not to exceed $36,000.00.
