Title: Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between District and Oakland Kids First, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide 42.85 hours of service to work with school administration and teachers to support the academic success of rising 9th graders who have struggled academically in middle school or otherwise are identified by the District as high risk of dropping out of high school, through these activities: (1) Support administrators and teachers to train student peer mentors for purpose of building positive school cultures that will result in increased academic achievement and college and career readiness; and (2) Implement A-G workshops on graduation, college and transcript literacy, and conduct activities that give students an opportunity to build a positive school culture in which they can flourish and succeed, for the period July 1, 2012 through August 15, 2012, in an amount not to exceed $3,000.00.
