Title: Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and International Rescue Committee, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide a key staff liaison to work between resettlement caseworkers, the District's Refugee and Asylee Student Assistance Program, and, perform, among other duties, facilitated, expedited student enrollment for coming influx of refugee families, ensure optimal student placement, coordinate translation and interpretation support for language minority students, support teachers and school sites to learn more about refugee populations and needs, connect students to summer enrichment opportunities, coordinate family workshops and ongoing families school engagement, and conduct extensive research for adult education classes and summer programs at Oakland International High School, for the period of October 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, in an amount not to exceed $10,000.00.
