Approval by the State Administrator of a Professional Services Agreement between District and Swun Math LLC., for the latter to increase student achievement in mathematics through the development and implementation of a daily 90-minute math program for grades 2-5 students at 16 elementary schools [ASCEND, Allendale, Bella Vista, Emerson, Green Leaf, Hoover, Howard, Korematsu, International Community, Lafayette, Lazear, Markham, Maxwell park, New Highland, REACH, and Santa Fe] and for grades K-5 students at 4 elementary schools participating in K-1 Pilot [ACORN, Brookfield, Horace Mann, and Lakeview] including development and use of a pacing guide utilizing District adopted math textbook, common pre-and post-trimester exams, teaching strategies (lesson design, group work techniques, academic language development, writing skills, etc.), monthly coaching support/site visits by contractor, and permission to use the Beyond the Basic Facts intervention materials, for the period August 11, 2008 through June 30, 2009, in an amount not to exceed $668,000.00.
