Approval by State Administrator of a Professional Services Contract between District and Oakland Small Schools Foundation, for the latter to provide support staff to aid in the management and development of Family Resource Center, the parent outreach center, and 100-Parents Strong Parent volunteer tutors program; management and development of school-wide events and parent involvement projects in order to increase parent knowledge of school content standards and expected levels of student learning and performance on State standards-based assessments and district and site-based assessments; assist with staff development projects focused on increasing parent/school connections, with a specific focus on strengthening parent/school connections for families of Title I eligible identified students, and families of English Learners; analysis to identify target students for in-class interventions, summer school, and future program development and placement; facilitation of meetings (sponsored by SSC and ELAC) with parents and teachers of Title I eligible identified students, and families of English Learners to develop knowledge and skill in analyzing student performance on State standards-based assessments and district and site-based assessments; collection and review of sample assessments and unit plans to develop presentations for parents of Title I eligible identified students, and families of English Learners in order to develop knowledge and skill in evaluating current instructional practices and facilitate parent involvement in curricular and instructional decisions, in an amount not to exceed $24,000.00 at Fred T. Korematsu Discovery Academy Elementary School, for the period April 1, 2008 through June 30, 2008.
