Title
Authorize the President and Secretary of the Board to enter into and execute Resolution No. 0708-0176 - Award of Bid and Construction Contract on behalf of the District with Arntz Builders, Inc., Novato, CA, for the latter to remove and replace existing roof-top HVAC mechanical air handling units; remove one (1) large chiller and provide five (5) smaller chillers; clean all existing ductwork and repair/replace existing supply air distribution ductwork as required; begin repair and replacement effort for the fire alarm, clock and bell, public announcement, security/access control, telephone, data systems; provide infrastructure for adequate power supply for each classroom, as required; establish eight (8) utility closets to facilitate electrical systems distribution; remove suspended acoustical ceilings and corridor ceilings to perform work and replace with new suspended acoustical ceilings and lights, and new corridor ceilings with soffits and lights in conjunction with the Oakland High School Modernization-Williams Settlement for the period commencing May 5, 2008 and ending August 16, 2008 in the amount of $13,861,975.00; and rejecting all other bids if any.
