Approval by State Administrator of a Professional Services Contract between District and Regents of the Univesity of California, thru its Lawrence Hall of Science, for the latter to provide afterschool literacy academic support through science education programming that includes: exploring and sorting material objects, experimenting with gear systems, exploring interactions among pulleys and gears, creating and using simple circuits to investigate electrical interactions, creating and using simple circuits to explore electrical conductors, reviewing the concepts of interaction and system, using properties of tracks made as a result of rolling/colliding spheres to evaluate evidence of interaction, investigating variables in mineral samples, experimenting with colored liquids, experimenting with salt solutions, investigating interacting water systems, using thermometers to measure temperature differences, using XPLORER data loggers and probes to measure temperatures outdoors, experimenting with paper airplanes, investigating magnetic interactions, performing basic air, water or soil quality research, and analysis of collected data and presentation of research results, at Glenview Elementary School for the period February 26, 2008 through June 11, 2008, at a cost not to exceed $2,500.00.
