Approval by the Board of Education of a Services Agreement 2023-2024 by and between the District and Safe Passages, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide 350 hours of targeted intervention to students designated as "Newcomers", students who speak English as a second language and have been in the country for less than one year, with a focus on developing basic conversational and academic English and including help with phonics, vocabulary, reading comprehension and writing; and additionally, providing translation support for families or newcomers at Laurel Elementary School, for the period of August 7, 2023 through May 24, 2024, in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00.
