Title

Ratification by the Board of Education of a Services Agreement 2025-2026 by and between the District and Ball for Life Oakland LLC, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide a coach to plan and facilitate Physical Education (PE) programming with an emphasis on relationships, inclusion, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and belonging; having Coach develop relationships with students to cultivate feelings of belonging at school; facilitating problem-solving between children with the goal of students becoming independent in their problem-solving skills (e.g., use of I-messages and responses, rock/paper/scissors, etc.); teaching students age-appropriate playground games with the goal of helping them become independent in choosing and playing games; planning and facilitating PE (with a focus on inclusion, Social Emotional Learning and Belonging); participating in mandatory Ball for Life “Onboarding” Social Emotional Learning (SEL) focused orientation/training sessions (length dependent on experience of Coach); create monthly newsletters to share PE updates, showcase healthy student play and engage parents/community (can be shared on Parent Square if school chooses to); work with REACH staff to curate a safe, fun, active and engaging PE environment and culture; gather student data and feedback on PE; and make program adjustments throughout the year in response to data and student feedback at Reach Academy, for the period of August 18, 2025 through May 22, 2026, in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00.
