Title: Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and People United for a Better Life in Oakland, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide a Garden Educator who is responsible for: 10 hours of Direct Service: teaching 10 classes per week, 1 hour each; each lesson aligns with the Next Generation Science Standards and ties in with the curriculum in the classroom; 3 hours of Curriculum Development: planning with classroom teachers about science and math units to tie into the garden classroom activities; collaboration on larger projects such as science fair projects; material preparation; communicate with Staff and administration; 3 hours of Garden Maintenance: Manage food production, manage food scrap compost, manage irrigation, and communicate with Custodian and Buildings/Grounds when needed, at Sobrante Park Elementary School, for the period January 5, 2015 through June 30, 2015, in an amount not to exceed $11,000.00.
