Approval by the Board of Education of Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Contract between the District and Partners In School Innovation (PSI), Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide a Manhood Development Program for classes and activities that foster student engagement in school and student health; African American Family Summits - outreach to families and organizing workshops and other activities; Voluntary School Study Teams - support to schools to improve school climate and better support student achievement and wellbeing; and  professional development and informal coaching for school and central office staff to tackle systemic inequities that produce racial, gender and ethnic disparities in achievement and wellbeing of students and families, and additional hours to provide the information families need to support their students' academic, social, and physical development, particularly in the area of college and career planning in partnership with UC Berkeley's Destination College Program, for additional 1500 hours, at an additional cost not to exceed $150,000.00, increasing the not to exceed amount of Contract from $80,900.00 to $230,900.00, for the period July 1, 2012 June 30, 2013.
