Ratification by the Board of Education of Amendment No. 1 of a Professional Services Contract between District and Lauren Markham, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide additional 285 hours to develop a full service community school in the form of an "Immigrant and Refugee Wellness Center," support the Oakland International High School (OIHS) administration and community with the following: (1) Coordinate student referrals and management of partner agencies for mental health, tutoring, social services and mentor services, for a minimum of 100 students; (2) Based on parent, student and teacher input, identify parent/student support services to be based on campus during the next school year and work to develop service plan with school and community agencies (a minimum of seven organizations, including Refugee Transitions, Community Health for Asian Americans, Burma Refugee Family Network, Street Level Health Clinic, the TechniClinic, and others); (3) Building off of pre-existing parent engagement activities and workshops, engage a minimum of 40 parents and community members in OIHS Full Service Community School input and design, assembling an engaged advisory board; (4) Support OIHS administrators with planning for use of expanded OIHS school site to determine where to strategically locate parent learning center and community support services on campus and how to divide the new space, for the period October 5, 2011 through June 30, 2012, in an additional amount not to exceed $8,000.00, increasing the contract not to exceed amount from $20,132.00 to $28,132.00.  All other terms and conditions of the contract remain in full force and effect.
