Title: Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Oakland Youth Chorus (OYC), Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide the following services: 1) Support the School in designing, creating, implementing and evaluating a school based choral music program; 2) Provide needed additional funding to the program as funding permits; 3) Design a program budget for the school year; 4) Provide music curricula that fulfills CA State and the visual performing arts standards; 5) Recruit and hire qualified music teachers for the school program; 6) Provide ongoing training and mentoring to music teachers to improve their teaching skills; 7) Collaborate with school leadership on program management, assessment, and development; 8) Communicate with parents, students and the community at large about OYC and the partnership at Skyline High School, for the period of December 27, 2018 through June 30, 2019, in an amount not to exceed $8,000.00.
