Title: Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between District and Center for the Art of Translation, San Francisco, CA, for the latter to provide 46 hours for two coaches to provide direct instruction in writing poetry, and follow up with the publishing of completed poems; writing process is emphasized and students will explore their own thoughts and take risks with their writing; primary objective is to identify, screen and service students in collaboration with teachers; coaches will go into classrooms to deliver this instruction under supervision of the classroom teacher; participating students develop skills to help them perform better in class and in other social situations, with an end result of increased academic achievement, at Sobrante Park Elementary School, for the period April 2, 2010 through June 17, 2010, in an amount not to exceed 3,450.00.
