Title: Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Gail Sadalla, Berkeley, CA, for the latter to provide 500 hours of service to District suspension reduction efforts by providing conflict resolution/peer mediation training and technical support to administrators, staff, and school site conflict resolution program coordinators in up to 12 middle schools, 8 elementary schools, and 2 high schools. Consultant will support teachers by coordinating Second Step Violence Prevention curriculum implementation in up to 4 middle schools, assist with conflict resolution program resource development/fundraising, and provide support to District-level positive school climate and safety initiatives. Peer mediation and social skills training are key District youth development strategies that build school connectedness and academic success; for the period of August 18, 2009 through June 30, 2010 in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00.
