A continued discussion of an oral report to the Facilities Committee by  
Deputy Chief, Facilities Planning and Management or designee, on  
Districtwide Security Systems and Door Entry System improvements at  
school sites.  
Attachments:  
David Colbert, Director, Facilities Planning and Management, gave a verbal  
update on Districtwide Security Systems and Door Entry System  
improvements at school sites and responded to comments and questions  
from the Committee.  
- Emergency Districtwide Maintenance contract in progress. Currently there  
is no specified date for when the contract will come before the Facilities  
Committee for review and recommendation to the Board for approval.  
- School site security upgrades due to be complete in April 2023: Oakland  
High School.  
- School site security upgrades due to be complete in May 2023: Oakland  
Technical High School, Oakland International High School, Fremont High  
School, Street Academy Alternative School, Rudsdale Continuation School,  
Sojouner Truth Virtual Academy, Skyline High School.  
- School site security upgrades due to be complete in June 2023: Castlemont  
High School.  
- Over 30 school sites will receive door entry upgrades with Elementary and  
Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funding.

Approval by the Facilities Committee of favorable recommendation to the  
Board of Education of Agreement Between Owner and Alternative  
Design-Builder by and between the District and Alten Construction, Inc.,  
Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide design build services, as described  
in Article I, Scope of Work, of the Agreement, incorporated herein by  
reference as though fully set forth, for the McClymonds High School  
Modernization Design Build Services Project, in the lump sum amount of  
$5,724,000.00, which includes a contingency amount of $50,000.00, for  
additional services, with the work scheduled to commence on February  
23, 2023, and scheduled to last until December 31, 2027.
