Title: Adoption by the Board of Education, as the Governing Authority of the Oakland Unified School District, of the Verification of Closure of Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) Programs; certifying that said Programs have been closed for in-person instruction due to a local or state public health order or guidance and by order of the Board since March 2020, due to COVID-19; that at some point the Board will discuss in a Public Hearing the ELC Program closure and will prepare a plan for safely reopening the ELC Program no later than when the District campuses reopens for in-person instruction; authorizes the President of the Board to execute said Verification on behalf of the Board, as required by CA SB 820 and Education Code Section 8209; and further authorize the Superintendent of Schools or designee to transmit said Verification to the California Department of Education forthwith.
