Approval by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Oakland Public Education Fund, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide stipends for non-District staff to serve as Wellness Champions who are site leads for implementing the District's School Wellness Policy and specific program activities, according to agreed upon focus areas; parent wellness leaders to attend site Wellness Council Meetings, participate in school and District-run wellness meetings and trainings, facilitate discussions at school sites around the District’s Wellness Policy, promote and distribute wellness materials, lead specific wellness activities around nutrition, school gardens, Safe Routes to School and other areas; non-District school site staff to fulfill the support positions of Health Education leaders, LGBTQ School Climate Liaisons, and Referral Coordinators, as part of the Healthy Oakland Teens programming, and parents to serve as Family Health Advocates to conduct outreach for health insurance enrollment and other resources provided though the District’s Central Family Resource Center, for the period of October 3, 2016 through June 30, 2017, in an amount not to exceed $20,107.50.
