Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between District and The Regents of the University of California, Berkeley, CA, for the latter to provide 713 hours of service for the East Bay Academy for Young Scientists, Science Enrichment Program, based at University of California Berkeley's Lawrence Hall of Science, to present a program that meets twice per week throughout the remainder of the 2011/2012 school year to provide staff and instructional materials necessary to implement the program; be responsible for scheduling, staff training and management, and transport of learning materials associated with the program, employ a series of hands-on, inquiry-based activities that introduce or reinforce science content aligned with State of California and national science education content standards, and support students' learning activities that better prepare them for future academic studies, for Limited English Proficient students, including the use of resources from District's FOSS Kits, at Lazear Elementary School, for the period August 30, 2011 through June 6, 2012, for a not to exceed amount of $20,000.00.
