Title: Ratification by the Board of Education of Professional Services Contract between the District and Kerima M. Lewis, Berkeley, CA, for the latter to provide 54 hours for five month of support: lead an American history study group (teachers grade 4,5,8, 11) that reads, discusses, and identifies instructional implications of three scholarly texts in American history (six discussion sessions); support by providing historical background and source documents a group of 4th and 5th grade teachers piloting a district-wide writing prompt for 4th and 5th grade teachers; help teachers identified the historical questions that frame the writing prompt and provide a selection of source documents to be included in instructional materials designed to support students success in writing to the prompt, for the period December 1, 2011 through May 31, 2012, in an amount no to exceed $4,000.00.
