Title: Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between District and National Center Youth Law, Oakland CA, for the latter to provide 200 hours of service of research and development of models for recruiting, training, and supporting educational representatives for foster youth; expand the pool of volunteers who are trying to act as educational representatives for foster youth attending District schools; create training materials for educational representatives that incorporate and reflect recent changes in California and federal law; prepare a manual for educational representatives and caretakers detailing the different mentoring programs and extracurricular activities available for foster youth; train various Alameda County Employees on the educational rights of foster youth so they are better prepared to act as advocates; and provide technical support to those educational representatives, enabling them to successfully help foster youth in need of education...
